Qawwama is not a victory.
I'm kind of starting to wonder if brothers really understand the ramifications of the ayah. It doesn't mean that you're here and she's here, and then you put her down. That's not what it means. It means you're here. You were created here.
She was created here. You can't have the same expectations of behavior, of processing, of understanding, of comprehension, of wisdom, of anything. She doesn't submit to you because you were equal, and then you degrade her to a lower position and she submits. You're already higher and that actually translates to it's not a very good situation for men. It's a difficulty for men.
It's not a privilege. It's not a a victory to have you up here and woman here. It's a hassle. It's difficulty for you. We're not talking about two equal forces that go to battle and then one wins and then defeats the other and then they're subdued.
The ayah is not an ayah on Jizya. It's an ayah about the difference in your creation. Man was here, created here, woman was created here. She's a derivative creation. You cannot have the same expectations of a woman as you have of a man.
That's something you just have to swallow. That's just something you have to deal with. It's not a pleasure. It's not wonderful. It's difficult, but you're not allowed to have the same expectations.
Period.
