Surah al-Ahzab: 35

Middle Nation · 24 Aug 2021 · 3:08 · YouTube

I think that the ayah in Surah Ahzab number 35 that talks about the and so on and so on that was revealed in response to the question of to Rasulullah when she said basically, you know, we see that the Quran is mostly about men and it's mostly directed towards men, so what about women? I think that the this ayah was in response to her question and some people have misinterpreted that to mean that Allah is saying, well, no, actually you're mistaken. All of the Quran is for both of you, men and women. That's not what this means. It's actually a confirmation that yes, you're right.

It is mostly for men but that doesn't mean that women don't get their reward for their righteousness. Women will also get a reward for their righteousness. It's just that your sphere for manifesting your for expressing your din isn't in the same sphere that it is for men. Meaning, the sphere for men is the world, the society in general. That's where we are supposed to manifest our deen and express our ibadah and that's where it is actualized and realized in the outside world.

This obviously is going to require considerably more regulations. It it implies a lot more obligations and responsibilities and duties and so that's what comprises most of the deen. Most of the deen is directed towards men, that's a fact. And I think that to understand this ayah, you have to look at the hadith when Rasulullah said that the wife who prays her five salawat and fast her Ramadan and obeys her husband will be able to enter Jannah from any gate that she wishes. There you see, this is where this is the context for your.

This is the context for the woman's expression and manifestation of Haddin. The home, the family, her relationship with her husband. This is the context in which you are judged for your righteousness. This is the main context. This is the sphere.

This is the arena for your righteousness. Salamah was right when when she said that most of the Quran is for men. That this is true. Most of Islam is for men. Most of the obligations, the requirements, the instructions, the prohibitions, the commands apply to men.

For women, your arena is the home. But there's no difference in the reward that you will receive for your righteousness. What's required of you to manifest your righteousness is less than what is required of us, but that's because you have a lesser capacity, lesser capabilities than men. You can't manifest Islam in the outside world the way that men can. So the requirements and the obligations that are upon us are not the requirements and obligations upon you, but you will get the reward for what is required of you and we will get the reward for what is required of us if we fulfill it and if you fulfill it.
