Materialistc ideologies reflect the view of Iblees towards Bani Adam

Our concepts about ourselves are going to be determined by what we have been taught about mankind and human nature by the one that we are listening to. So you can know who someone is listening to by what they think about human nature. And ultimately, there's only two sources of information that human beings follow in this regard. Allah and Iblis. You're either following the guidance of your creator or the misguidance of your enemy.

Shaitan thinks very little of you. He thinks he's better than you, he thinks you don't have any inherent value, and he wants to undermine you and make you devalue yourself and believe as he believes that you don't have inherent value. This is why we can see that the way the Kufar feel about themselves and about human life and human value is largely determined by what Shaitan thinks about people. So Iblis' evaluation of human beings is that they are empty, made from tain, made from mud, made from clay, and have no intrinsic worth. Shaytaan's attitude towards human beings has shaped the way the Kufar, the West, understand human beings and human behavior.

This is why they promote materialism, accumulation of wealth, accumulation of possessions, and emphasize physical appearance more than character, style more than substance because Iblis has taught them that this is all they are, just bodies. So whenever you see an ideology or whenever you see a belief system or perspective about human beings that emphasizes these types of things, you know who they are listening to about the nature of reality, the nature of human beings, about the nature of creation. They're listening to shaitan because Allah has emphasized to us that these things are not important. This is where the value comes. So any belief system, any perspective that diverts away from that criterion of value, it's coming from Shaitan.
