Sovereignty Not Antagonism | Livestream Excerpt
Because they have to maintain their interest. Because America can be very unreasonable in its diplomacy. You know? And so we've had to manage our expectations and our negotiations with America. But maybe, again, the shift is very obvious.
And so you're hearing from different foreign ministers what you what you don't normally hear, you know, because they're ready now.
Well, I think I think I I I they do it the right way. That's the right way to do it. I think that you have to take the position of not hostility or antagonism towards America or towards the West, but just independence. And and and we we take positions and we make policies based on what is in the interest of our country and in and and which adheres to our values as a country. And this isn't for or against anyone.
It's for our own people and against whatever is against the interest of our own people. This is this is the this is the only way that you can do it. Now that is perceived by The United States to be antagonistic. Because if you are not just doing as you're told, that's antagonism in the in the in the mind of America. You you have to be completely obedient and acquiescent and obsequious.
And anything short of that is hostile. But because of the shift that's taking place, the transition that we're living through, and because of the organization of Bricks, countries don't have to care about that as much.
Yeah. You're gonna hear
They have more leverage than they used to have
Yeah.
To where now they can say. Now now they can just openly say, okay. You look crazy by by saying that us caring about our interests is antagonizing you. You actually look like a crazy person now. But it's important.
It it's important for there to actually not be antagonism. It's it's unnecessary.
Yeah.
This is this is you asking for a problem. If you're going to if you're going to I mean, like like, for example, even though it makes a ton of people happy to have Iran, death to America, and and all of these kinds of things, this is a stupid position to take. I'm sorry. This is this this is not an intelligent position to take for a government. You just just take the position of well, I mean, America exists and they have things that they want, but they're not necessarily what we want.
Yeah. And what they want is not necessarily good for us. So we're an independent sovereign nation, and we will do what's in our interest.
Yeah.
We're not going to pretend America doesn't exist or or say that we're now dedicated to the destruction of America or some ridiculous thing like this. Our position is, okay. America does what they do, and we do what we do for the interest of our people. And if there's a if if the two what they want and what we want do not coincide and do not work to the interest of our people, well
Partly simple.
Yeah. When when we won't go along with it. Very simple. Just be independent and be sovereign without hostilities to anyone. And and and this is this is the position that the countries around here take.
This is the position that that Saudi Arabia has taken. Russia Russia usually sort of takes that position. China definitely takes that position. They don't they don't express animosity to anyone.
Yeah.
And they don't you know, America is the one that's always I mean, like, this ridiculous when Trump made it his employees his nominations for his cabinet. And he was like, what did he say? America's enemies take notice. Dude, what the what is wrong with you? And this isn't him.
This is the whole country. They all think like this. Yeah. Well, everybody better be scared now. What is wrong with you?
Why can't you just be normal? Nobody talks like that. Can you imagine? Yeah. Can you imagine?
Even another Western country, Italy, has a new government. Italy's enemies better take notice. Nobody's thinking about you.
It's not even a childish.
It's so bizarre. It's very it's a very bizarre mentality for grown up people.
