Congressional hearings on banning Tiktok
Good lord. Did you see any of the clips from the congressional hearings about banning TikTok? I mean, these are the elected representatives of the American population, And they did nothing in those hearings except prove that the lot of them are dumb as a bag of hammers.
Mister Chu, does TikTok access the home Wi Fi network?
If I'm connected to the inner webs, I mean, what is this? Do you agree that the Chinese government has persecuted the Uighur population? Would you deny that? When am I gonna get paid?
Do you does TikTok support good?
Because this hasn't been a fun day. I know that. And then this guy asking, why don't they have them challenges in China like we have them stupid challenges in well, it sounds like an American problem. Do you know whether they have these kind of challenges like this over in China? Because it's my understanding they don't.
That sounds like an American problem. After all, you lot are the representatives of the population. Right? And all of you are as dumb as a post. So is it really surprising that you would also have stupid challenges on the American version of TikTok?
My favorite part is this.
We have also developed some tools where we look at their public profile, to go through the videos that they post to see whether Well, that's creepy.
Tell me more about that. Definitely not the first time he said those words. That sounds creepy. Tell me more. Unbelievable.
I mean, I'm really starting to feel sorry for American, TikTok creators because the game is rigged, and they wanna get rid of TikTok. And the bill is only marginally about TikTok. The real aim of the bill is just to give the government more power to censor what's online. And you see most of the criticisms by the congress is, like, you're allowing certain things to go on TikTok that shouldn't be allowed, things that we don't like, things that should be moderated. Why are you failing to moderate these things?
As if we didn't just go through a whole discussion about whether or not content should be moderated and whether or not that's really a good thing to have the, platform become an editor for the, public for the for the content being provided by creators. Are you a platform, or are you a publication that is responsible for editing content? That was that used to be a discussion. Now that discussion has already been settled. Now they've decided that Facebook, Meta, you know, Google, Twitter, TikTok, all supposed to be able to censor and edit people's content according to whatever the government thinks, which obviously we already know was in full swing, full operation under COVID.
So they want them they want to increase and expand the powers of the government to, censor and control online content. That's actually what the bill is about. And they're just using TikTok as a vehicle for pushing this censorship agenda forward because they've created such a, you know, an evil villainous Chinese image of TikTok. So they can pretend like it's a, you know, an evil espionage program just trying to create a bunch of Manchurian candidates in The United States through, you know, silly TikTok videos. It's so absurd.
But the the highlight of it is showing the just unfathomable stupidity of members of congress. These are the people who are making the laws. These are people who are making policies. These are the people who are making decisions about going to war and who gets the billions. You know?
And all of them invested in Meta. All of them invested in Google. All of them invested in Apple. How is that even legal? Why isn't that the discussion?
Why aren't there hearings about that? Like, congressman, are you supposed to be actually investing in companies while you're making policies that affect directly the share prices of those companies? We're not gonna talk about that. It's a joke. Wallahi, it's a joke.
Anyway, my heart goes out to you Americans who are gonna get banned off of TikTok. It's too bad for you. But, honestly, it ends up being better for the rest of the world who's on TikTok, as I've said before, because, you know, it might decrease the amount of actual propaganda and misinformation if they're not able to enforce their censorship plans on TikTok. That's better.
