My views on Crypto

I've never really talked about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin or any of those things before, so let me just say what my thoughts are on it. The people who came up with this whole infrastructure, the blockchain and cryptocurrency and all of that are, inherently, intrinsically ideological. They diagnosed what they thought is the problem in the monetary system, what's the problem in the economy, and they came up with cryptocurrency. It's brilliant. They came up with cryptocurrency as a solution that they thought would liberate people from central banks, from Federal Reserve, from all of that, and, currency manipulation and so on.

And they thought that it would liberate people from, government controlling money. They never thought about the fact that states have power and that states are not going to allow the existence of independent currency. So to me, I see the architects of the cryptosphere, blockchain, decentralized finance as essentially like inmates in a prison clandestinely building homemade weapons that they plan to use in an escape attempt, not understanding that the entire time the prison administration has been watching them and is just waiting for their weapons to be complete so that they can move in, seize the weapons, and use them against the prisoners. Cryptocurrency, independent of government control, has no future, period. There will be CBDCs.

They will be tied to central banks. They will be tied to governments, and Bitcoin, Ethereum, all the rest, independent cryptocurrencies, have no future. This was never going to be liberatory. The government commandeering the infrastructure was always going to happen. So all you have actually done in the end is build infrastructure that will empower governments to have even more control, unprecedented control over people's money.
