Germany kidnapping Muslim children?
There's a video that's been going around that's been shared by a lot of Muslims of a child in Germany, a Muslim child being taken from their family and taken into child protective service. And of course, just like with Sweden a few months back, this is being spread across Muslim social media as evidence of Germany stealing Muslim children from their families. Don't spread information unless you can investigate it and check and verify this kind of information because there's millions, millions of Muslim families in Germany, millions of Muslim children in Germany who are not being abducted by the state. The story has been clarified somewhat by the authorities saying that police responded in this particular case because the child had been screaming for long periods of time and the neighbors complained out of concern for the child. You might wanna know that little piece of information before jumping into the conclusion that the German authorities just saw, oh, there's a Muslim living over there.
Let's go take their children. See, this is a problem when you have what you can call emotionally Muslim people as opposed to, intellectually Muslim people or or or Muslims who are Muslim because of knowledge. Emotionally Muslim people are too easily manipulated because they have an emotional connection to the religion, but not an intellectual or knowledge based connection to the religion, whereby they will feel, passionate about any sort of Muslim cause without ever actually going to the trouble to see what's the real situation. They're easily manipulated, easily exploited. They're very excitable.
It's even worse than a cultural Muslim because at least a cultural Muslim may not have knowledge about the deen, but they have their culture that dictates how they respond and what matters to them and sort of a framework for interacting with society. Emotionally Muslim people don't have that kind of structure. They can just blow up in emotion and run with half baked information because they have an emotional connection to anything with the word Islam or Muslim on it. So they can do a lot of damage this way the rest of the Muslims and for whatever society they're in. And the problem is compounded because of social media, because you have people whose target audience are emotionally Muslim people.
Muslims who don't have knowledge, Muslims who don't have critical thinking skills, who are just emotionally Muslim. And they know that those Muslims, that particular target audience of emotionally Muslim people will interact with any post about an incendiary sort of inflammatory issue. They will immediately react and they will share it across the Internet, And they will like and share and promote any page, any video, any post, any tweet that excites them, that excites their emotions, that particularly anything that that that validates for them the idea that Muslims are endlessly victimized, the idea that Muslims are endlessly oppressed, the idea that Muslims are endlessly prosecuted in the West. For whatever reason, they sort of fetishize, as one brother said, they fetishize oppression. And so anything that confirms to them that, yes, Muslims are oppressed, they react and they spread it because it validates their worldview.
It validates their sense of their own helplessness and and and oppression. So this motivates, in my opinion, unscrupulous content creators, Muslim content creators online to spread either false or exaggerated or half true information without giving a full context, without giving a full explanation, and without themselves verifying the information that they're spreading. And Rasulullah said that it's enough to make a person a liar that they just repeat everything that they hear, but we do it anyway. Because why? You get clicks, you get likes, you get shares, you get subscribers, your posts get promoted.
So there's a lack of integrity on the part and a lack of honesty on the part of people who share this information without even bothering to check if it's true. And you might end up being someone who is actually defending people who were abusing a Muslim child, but you don't care. Because okay. Maybe in this particular case, the child was being, was being abused, but I know that this thing happens. I know that Muslims are being prosecuted, so it's fine.
If this particular case isn't true, nevertheless, my overall worldview that I can't substantiate in any way, my worldview is correct anyway. So we'll run with it because it's essentially true even if it's not factually correct. It's essentially true in, it's emblematic of what I believe to be true. This is very irresponsible. It's very reckless.
And like I said, the problem is just compounded by the fact that you have content creators who know that when they put out a post like this or make a video like this or do a tweet like this, it will get a lot of interaction and it will spread like wildfire. But this is extremely irresponsible. So please, you know, verify information before you spread it.
