Don't Slander this Ummah

I just want to say something quickly here because I've noticed that there's a certain segment of the Muslim community who seems to like to denigrate our ummah, denigrate their fellow Muslims. To say Muslims today are weak, Muslims today have nothing going for them, they're ignorant, they're sinful, they don't take Islam seriously, Muslims today are nothing. To say Muslims are no good. They're not like they were in the days of the Salaf. They're not like they were in the days of the Sahaba.

Muslims today are a joke. There's so many Muslims who say these kinds of things. I don't have any tolerance for that. I don't have any patience for that. That's unacceptable.

Particularly when people are saying these kinds of things about their brothers and sisters so that they can imply that they're better than their brothers and sisters. They say that as if by saying that they are setting themselves above their fellow Muslims. In other words, I'm not like that. I can point out that they are this way and that way and the other way because I'm not that way. Okay.

Who does that sound like? Who else did that in the past? That's Iblis. That's what Iblis said. That's how Iblis thought.

That's how he acted. You're doing the work of Iblis. You're doing the work of Shaitan when you belittle your brothers and sisters, when you demean your brothers and sisters, when you denigrate your brothers and sisters and say that the Muslims aren't anything. Okay. If the Muslims aren't good right now, make them better and start with yourself.

Be better yourself and make your brothers and sisters better by helping them and encouraging them and inspiring them. Who has ever been inspired by being denigrated and demeaned? Does that work for you? Does that help you to be better by being told constantly that you're nothing, that you can never accomplish anything, that you can never be anything, that you're ignorant, that you're stupid, that you're sinful. Who's ever been inspired by that?

The Muslims are the best ummah of mankind. That's a fact. No one can debate that, no one can argue that, no one can deny that. So don't be one of those people. Don't do the work of shaitan, and don't become yourself by the by your words and your actions and your discouragement of this ummah.

Don't make yourself a shaitan among men by trying to bring the Muslims down rather than trying to help lift them up.
